Cheesemans Green
cheesemans-green-182x137Cheesemans Green was a design and construct project for housing developer Crest Nicholson and as such required our operational and design teams to approach the delivery process from an Early Contractor Involvement working collaboratively with the client’s delivery team together with many stakeholders including Kent County Council Highways, Highways England and the Environment Agency.

Dounreay
dounreay-182x122As part of the ongoing decommissioning of the Dounreay Nuclear Facility, comprising of the construction of 2 below surface vaults which will be capped – one of which will be filled with nuclear waste. Each vault was approximately 100m long by 50m wide and 14m deep within the local Caithness rock.

Green Port Hull

greenporthull-207x161This contract involved specialist earthworks to aid the construction of the facility for mooring vessels at Alexandra Dock for the new Siemens wind turbine manufacturing plant.

Ross’ Lan
rossland-193x124The Ross’ Land project involved the reclamation of a 14 hectare site in Aberdeen, which had former uses as a sand and gravel quarry and, more recently, as a landfill. Blackwell prepared the site for use as a residential development by uncovering and treating approximately 50,000m3 of contaminated waste.

Middlehaven Urban Park
middlehaven-urban-park-193x131The contaminated former gasworks site measures approximately 2.5 hectares in area and is intended for future mixed-use development. The scope of work on this site included the remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater, the construction of suitable development platforms and the installation of highways and drainage infrastructure.

Barton Park, Oxford

barton-park-oxford-221x129One of two new health towns in Oxford, The initial earthworks phase will transform the profile of the currently sloping site to create level development platforms. Blackwell has also been appointed to construct strategic infrastructure including new sports pitches, access roads and car parking facilities with associated drainage.
