Crest Software’s CS Project is being used by S Walsh & Sons to plan and monitor progress on this very impressive – and extremely challenging – project.

The high-end property developer K10 group is transforming the former Panamanian Embassy in Knightsbridge from a three storey brick mansion into a palatial modern residence,
incorporating a cinema and swimming pool.

Walsh had to retain the façade of Amberwood House; demolish everything inside the shell of the building and excavate a 12m deep, three storey basement underneath it.
To complicate matters, the basement occupies almost the entire footprint of the site, extending outwards beyond the foundations of the existing building.
And that’s not all….the site is extremely inaccessible – tucked away down a private drive, hemmed in on three sides by neighbouring properties and’sharing a party wall with a
Grade 11 listed house!

Space in this part of London is at a premium , so developers want as much square-footage as possible. Amberwood House is most definitely a one-off, as the local authority has now restricted developments to a 4.5m maximum dig. This is probably the last three level basement you will ever see in Knightsbridge!
